Pantsula is a South African style of dance in which a circle of dancers perform a repetitive shuffling step. Each member of the group will break away to do a solo turn within the circle. Pantsula dance has often been used to spread awareness around social issues like HIV/AIDS and to express resistance during the political struggle against the old apartheid government. A Pantsula is also a term for a fashionable young urban black person, especially a man.
